Optimizing for a Bulk Recommendation
This workflow explains how to perform a bulk optimization run across multiple trips, drivers, or both. You can initiate this action from anywhere in the platform—Dispatch, Trips, Drivers, Balance, or directly from the Optym logo button. The system will generate optimized driver-trip pairings using your selected Engine Mode, and results will be shown in the Review Module.
When to Use This
-
You want to optimize a group of trips across your network
-
You want to evaluate dispatch scenarios for multiple drivers
-
You need to test a new Engine Mode across a broader population
-
You want to pre-assign trips for the upcoming day or week
Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Select Your Source
You can start this workflow from any of the following modules (e.g. Dispatch, Trips, Drivers, Balance, Review) by selecting multiple assets or opening the Optymizer Panel.
Dispatch
Trips
Drivers
Balance
Review
Or from the Optym logo in the header bar
Step 2: Select Your Trips and/or Drivers
Use checkboxes or views to select:
-
Just trips
-
Just drivers
-
Or a combination of both
Step 3: Configure the Optimization
Once selected, this will launch the Optymizer Panel where you’ll review the selections and configure the engine run.
In the Optimizer Panel:
-
Review your selected trips and drivers
-
Choose your Engine Mode (e.g., “Next 3 Trips”, “Default”, or custom) and/or tweak parameters
-
Optionally adjust filters or refresh the selection before starting
Then click Optymize.
Step 4: Monitor Progress
You will see a status and progress bar as the system evaluates pairings, scores matches, and builds optimized assignments. This may take a few seconds or minutes depending on volume.
If you are doing a large, bulk optimization you can navigate away from this page and you will receive a notification in-app when the engine run is complete
Step 5: Review Your Results
Once complete, you’ll receive a notification that can redirect you to the Review Module where you’ll see:
-
All optimized pairings
-
Assignment status
-
Profitability and performance KPIs
-
Warnings or diagnostics (e.g., relay required, missed appointments)

Re-run optimization with different filters (e.g., exclude brokers or night drivers)
-
Use Save to TMS after reviewing and finalizing assignments
-
Keep an eye on warnings and diagnostics to improve future runs
